Destiny Miniature
Australian Shepherds was founded in 1986 after I acquired my second mini Aussie,
a breed quality blue merle female with azure blue eyes. I'd have to say it was
"destiny" how I came to be the proud owner of Kit (RBKC CH
Croswhite's Miss Kitty Fox, HC, pictured above), but that's another
story unto itself.
Kit, as she is affectionately known, matured to be just under 15" tall, weighing
25 pounds, squarely and solidly built. A lot of heart and might are packed into this
little Aussie, as evidenced by her achievement of the Herding Instinct Certificate
from the American Herding Breeds Association on her very first exposure to stock at
3 years of age. Working trial judge, Terry Parrish of California, tested Kit and
described her as a super, low-heeling worker with incredible potential. Kit is also
the first Miniature Australian Shepherd conformation champion of record.
Destiny's breeding program
was founded on Kit, whose pedigree traces back to a number of well-known Australian
Shepherd foundation dogs including Weldon Heard's Flintridge line and the George's
Red Rustler family of dogs. I am now breeding grandsons, granddaughters and the
great grand-offspring of Kit who represent over 13 years of
practical experience enhanced by a personal and comprehensive knowledge of the
foundation dogs of both Australian and Miniature Australian Shepherd.
